Oikocredit Canada National Support Office established

In January 2013, Oikocredit established a National Support Office in Canada, appointing Eugene Ellmen to the position of National Director, Oikocredit Canada.
Eugene left his position as the head of the Social Investment Organization, Canada’s association for socially responsible investment (SRI) to manage the newly created National Support Office (NSO), based in Toronto. He has served as SIO Executive Director since 1999.
“We see many opportunities for Oikocredit in Canada and decided to recruit a national representative,” said Ylse van der Schoot, Director Investor Relations at Oikocredit International. “We are pleased Eugene is joining us, because his level of experience, his network and skills will be very beneficial to Oikocredit.”
In his new position, Eugene will collaborate with the three Oikocredit Support Associations in Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax in order to represent Oikocredit nationally with the SRI community, cooperatives, financial advisors, the media and prospective new investors.
