Celebrating 2024 and looking to the future

At Oikocredit, the holiday season goes beyond closing off the year and is about reflecting on the work of our partners and the many lives they have supported.

What’s more? Oikocredit reached some significant milestones this year and is moving forward with a brand new look. So let’s take a look at these highlights and some our favourite stories from 2024.

Community-focused projects

Did you know that 1.6 billion people are in need of housing and 600 million children lack adequate education?

We’ve been working with our partners to address these issues and this year has brought some exciting steps forward.

Read about how we co-lead a US$ 39 million investment to promote affordable housing in India and helped increase access to capital for schools in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

We also published our latest impact report, which showcases many more of our inspiring partners and the community-focused projects we supported this year. 

Celebrating milestones and a brand new look

This year marks 50 years that Oikocredit has been working in impact investments and 10 years since we’ve added renewable energy to our portfolio!

We’re celebrating the 50 year milestone by bringing together our global community with various initiatives and events. We also launched an exciting brand refresh and new website with the focus of ‘investing in tomorrow.’ Find out more in our recent press release.   

Our renewable energy portfolio has grown and developed immensely over the past ten years. As we’ve looked to where the biggest needs are, this year brought new projects like our recent investment to expand vaccine access and food security across Africa.

These milestones and stories motivate us as we move forward in our work to help improve the quality of life of people on low incomes and their communities. We’re excited for what 2025 holds and the new endeavours that come our way!
